Caetano Veloso

Brazilian musician

Caetano Veloso is a Brazilian musician. He co-founded the tropicalismo movement in Brazil in the 1960s. Veloso released the albums Caetano Veloso in 1967, Transa in 1972, Qualquer Coisa in 1975, and Cinema Transcendental in 1979. He also released Doces Bárbaros with Gilberto Gil and Gal Costa in 1976 and in 2006. Veloso received the Latin Grammy Award for Best Singer-Songwriter Album for in 2007. He has performed popular songs such as Pecado, Cucurrucucu Paloma, and Que Pena (Ele Já Não Gosta Mais de Mim). He has also appeared in the documentaries Maria Bethânia - Música É Perfume, Tropicalia, and Narcissus Off Duty.
