Vernon Reid

British-born American guitarist and songwriter

Vernon Reid is an American fusion and crossover guitarist. He is best known as the founder of Living Colour. He joined drummer Ronald Shannon Jackson's The Decoding Society in 1980, appearing on six albums with the group. He also formed the Black Rock Coalition with journalist Greg Tate. Reid released his solo album Mistaken Identity. He also released the albums Known Unknown and Other True Self with Masque. Reid has collaborated with other artists, appearing on Mick Jagger's Primitive Cool album. He also appeared in the documentary A Band Called Death. Among his most popular songs are Lightnin' and Mistaken Identity.
