Charlie Barnet was an American saxophonist, composer, and bandleader. He started his own big band in the early 1930s as homage to Duke Ellington, and was one of the first bandleaders to integrate his band. Barnet's popular songs included Skyliner, Cherokee, and Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall. Barnet appeared in the films Syncopation and A Song Is Born.
