Heavy D was a Jamaican-American rapper and actor (1967-2011). Heavy D & The Boyz were the first act signed to Uptown Records by André Harrell in 1986. As a solo artist, he released the albums Heavy, Vibes, and Waterbed Hev. Heavy D also produced tracks for Jay-Z and Beanie Sigel. His most popular songs include Now That We Found Love, Big Daddy, Keep It Comin', and Nuttin' But Love featuring The Boyz. Heavy D appeared in films New Jersey Drive, Step Up, and The Cider House Rules.
