

Alan Jay Lerner
Alan Jay Lerner was an American lyricist and librettist. He wrote the screenplay and title song for the film Gigi. Lerner received the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for Gigi and the Academy Award for Best Writing, Original Screenplay for An American in Paris. He also won the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album for On a Clear Day You Can See Forever - The Original Broadway Cast Recording. Lerner worked with Frederick Loewe on the musicals PAINT YOUR WAGON, Brigadoon, My Fair Lady, and Camelot. He has also released albums featuring Gene Kelly, Julie Andrews, Rex Harrison, and Richard Burton, and has worked with Billy Higgins and Cedar Walton on the song I've Grown Accustomed To Your Face, and with various artists such as Julie Andrews, Rex Harrison, Goddard Lieberson, and Frederick Loewe on other songs and recordings. Lerner passed away in 1986.
