American country singer-songwriter, guitarist, and record producer
Chris Stapleton is an American country singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer. Born in Kentucky, Stapleton moved to Nashville in the early 2000s, initially making a name for himself as a songwriter. He wrote or co-wrote hits for artists like George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Luke Bryan, and Adele before launching his solo career.
Stapleton’s debut album Traveller, which won a Grammy Award for Best Country Album in 2017, would be the first of several Best Country Album Grammy's for the singer. Other popular Stapleton releases include Higher, Starting Over, and From A Room: Volumes 1 & 2. Some of his most popular songs are Tennessee Whiskey, You Should Probably Leave, and Think I'm In Love With You. Over the years, he has continued to evolve his behind-the-scenes roll as a producer and songwriter, contributing to albums by Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, and Taylor Swift, among others. He has written songs with Peter Frampton, Sheryl Crow, and Ed Sheeran.
Stapleton appears in the 2017 film Outlaw: Celebrating the Music of Waylon Jennings alongside Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson.
