

Richie Havens
American singer-songwriter (1941-2013)
Richie Havens was an American singer-songwriter. He opened the Woodstock festival in 1969 and released albums including Mixed Bag, Live At the Cellar Door and the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, and Richard P. Havens, 1983. Havens also released Simple Things and Now. His most popular songs include Here Comes the Sun, Going Back to My Roots, and Freedom. Havens appeared in the documentaries The Ballad of Greenwich Village and Woodstock - 3 Days of Peace & Music, as well as the film Greased Lightning. He died in 2013.
