Exactly 364 days after the release of Jessie Reyez’s 2025 pop-rap hybrid PAID IN MEMORIES, the Canadian songwriter emerged for a victory lap. $TILL PAID picks up where its predecessor left off, with Reyez rapping, singing, and exploring all sorts of flows and vocal styles in between these two tentpoles. The opening track, “$TILL PAID (FREE$TYLE),” features the “FOREVER” star showcasing her inimitable dexterity as an MC, cooking up a rapid-fire double-time delivery that leads one to believe she might have spent the past year doing little else besides breath control and speed-rapping. Reyez updates standout PAID IN MEMORIES cut “**PALO SANTO**” with a new remix featuring Stormzy. The song showcases a different side of Reyez, one more laidback, sultry, and built around her ability to pluck melodies out of thin air and turn them into earworm hooks. In this sense, $TILL PAID is less a departure from PAID IN MEMORIES than a reminder that Reyez is in control of whatever sound she hones in on.
