Sheryl Swoopes is a former American basketball player. She made history at the collegiate level, leading the Lady Raiders to an NCAA title and setting single-game NCAA tournament and championship game-scoring records. Swoopes helped lead Team USA to gold medals in the 1996, 2000, and 2004 Olympics. She led the Houston Comets to four consecutive WNBA championships between 1997 and 2000 and was named WNBA MVP in 2000. Swoopes was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016. Her career spanned the Seattle Storm, Houston Comets, and Tulsa Shock.
