American dancer, actress, and singer
Donna McKechnie is an American dancer, actress, and singer. Her remarkable achievements in the dance world began when she was just a teenager. McKechnie performed in the touring company of West Side Story, before making her Broadway debut in 1961 in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Soon after she joined the national tour of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and was a featured dancer on the music series Hullabaloo.
McKechnie has gone on to appear in many more theatrical shows, both on Broadway and off, including On the Town, A Chorus Line—for which she won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical in 1976—and Wicked, where she played Madame Morrible in 2024 and 2025.
