Laurence Olivier was a British actor and director. He appeared in the films 49th Parallel, Battle of Britain, and A Bridge Too Far, as well as the series Jesus of Nazareth and Brideshead Revisited. Olivier directed the films Henry V, Hamlet, and Richard III and The Prince and the Showgirl. He received the Academy Award for Best Actor for Hamlet. Olivier also won the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor - Motion Picture for Marathon Man.
