Richard Armitage is an English actor. He played Thorin Oakenshield in The Hobbit film trilogy and appeared in Captain America: The First Avenger. Armitage led the cast as John Thornton in the 2004 British television program North & South. He also appeared in The Stranger and Hannibal.
