James Best was an American actor, musician, and artist (1926-2015). Best began his contract career with Universal Studios in 1949. He later appeared in films such as Cast A Long Shadow and Ride Lonesome in 1959, Sounder in 1972, and Rolling Thunder in 1977. He also starred in the series The Dukes of Hazzard and appeared as a guest on various country music and talk shows.
