James Cagney was an American actor and dancer (1899-1986). He is known for his iconic role as Cody Jarrett in White Heat and is best remembered for playing multifaceted tough guys in films. Cagney received an Academy Award for Best Actor for Yankee Doodle Dandy and appeared in films such as Each Dawn I Die, The Roaring Twenties alongside Humphrey Bogart, Love Me or Leave Me, Mister Roberts, and The Gallant Hours. Beyond his acting career, Cagney also released singles including The Yankee Doodle Boy, Shanghai Lil with Ruby Keeler, and Over There with Frances Langford.
