Cleavon Little was an American actor. He commenced his professional career in the late 1960s on the stage, notably appearing in the Broadway production of Purlie in 1970. Little transitioned to film, appearing in works such as Cotton Comes to Harlem, Blazing Saddles, Scavenger Hunt, Once Bitten alongside Jim Carrey, and Fletch Lives. He also received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in Dear John.
