E.G. Marshall was an American actor (1914 - 1998). Marshall performed Shakespeare with the American Art Theatre during the 1930s and later appeared in many plays on Broadway. He became one of the earliest members of the Actors Studio in 1948. Along with many TV appearances, Marshall also racked up notable credits in films such as 12 Angry Men, Tora! Tora! Tora!, Superman II, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, and Absolute Power alongside Clint Eastwood.
