

Hal Holbrook
American actor (1925–2021)
Hal Holbrook was an American actor (1925-2021). He originated and performed the one-man show Mark Twain Tonight, his signature role for more than 60 years. Holbrook made his film debut in Sidney Lumet's The Group and later appeared in films such as Lincoln, The Firm alongside Tom Cruise, The Fog, and The Majestic. He also had a notable role in the television series Designing Women. Holbrook won numerous Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role in The Bold Ones: The Senator in 1971.
