Patty Duke Astin was an American actress. She played Helen Keller in The Miracle Worker, winning an Oscar for the role. She also received a Golden Globe for her performance in Me, Natalie. Duke Astin starred in the cult classic Valley of the Dolls and appeared in films such as A Christmas Memory, A Season for Miracles, and produced The Patty Duke Show: Still Rockin' in Brooklyn Heights. She appeared in the television series The Patty Duke Show and A Matter of Justice. Duke Astin co-produced and played herself in the small-screen adaptation of her memoirs Call Me Anna. She released the singles And We Were Strangers and Dona Dona.
