David Hyde Pierce is an American actor and director. He is best known for playing Dr. Niles Crane in Frasier, for which he received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Pierce also appeared in the series Julia. He has directed for the stage, produced the documentary Sky Blossom, and appeared in films such as Down with Love, The Perfect Host, and Treasure Planet.
