Roberto Benigni is an Italian actor, director, and screenwriter. Benigni co-starred with Walter Matthau in Il piccolo diavolo and appeared in films directed by Federico Fellini, including La Voce della luna, as well as Down by Law directed by Jim Jarmusch. He starred in Life Is Beautiful for which he received the Academy Award for Best Actor. Benigni has also appeared in Asterix and Obelix vs. Caesar, Night on Earth, and To Rome with Love. He has directed the films The Monster and Pinocchio.
