British actress, singer, and comedian (1898–1979)
Gracie Fields was a British actress, singer, and comedian (1898-1979). Fields appeared in Holy Matrimony and Molly and Me alongside Roddy McDowall and Monty Woolley. Following her move to Hollywood mid-WWII, she produced several films for Twentieth Century Fox. Post-war, she continued performing her career-associated songs, and released the album American Farewell Concert in 1965. She was created a Dame Commander of the British Empire. Her popular songs include the singles Sally, Red Sails In the Sunset, Christmas Bells at Eventide, and Christmas Eve in Fairyland.
