American actor, jazz pianist, singer and songwriter (1918-1999)
Bobby Troup was an American actor, jazz pianist, singer, and songwriter. He wrote (Get Your Kicks On) Route 66 and Daddy, which stayed at number one on the Billboard Best Seller chart for eight weeks in 1941. Troup also wrote the theme song for the 1950s movie The Girl Can't Help It. He appeared in films such as First to Fight and The Gene Krupa Story, as well as the TV series Emergency!. He passed away in 1999.
