American actor, singer, musician, producer, director, and studio head

Dick Powell was an American singer, actor, film producer, film director, and studio head. He is known for his onscreen pairing with Ruby Keeler in the film 42nd Street, for which he also released the single of the same name. Powell also appeared in Hearts Divided where he played the younger brother of Napoleon Bonaparte, and Stage Struck. Powell had roles in It Happened Tomorrow and Murder, My Sweet. He later appeared in the film Susan Slept Here and appeared in the television series Four Star Playhouse. Beyond acting, Powell directed films The Enemy Below, You Can't Run Away from It, produced the film The Hunters, and released the singles I'll String Along With You and Lullaby of Broadway.
