Carroll O'Connor

American actor (1924–2001)

Carroll O'Connor was an American actor (1924-2001). He played Archie Bunker in All in the Family, for which he won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. O'Connor also won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role in In the Heat of the Night, which he starred in from 1988 to 1995. He appeared in the films In Harm's Way, Kelly's Heroes alongside Clint Eastwood and Donald Sutherland, and Return to Me. O'Connor created and co-executive produced Bronk in 1975, which starred Jack Palance.
