

Sid Caesar
American comic actor and writer (1922–2014)
Sid Caesar was an American comic actor and writer (1922-2014). Caesar performed as a saxophonist with bands in the Catskills at the age of 14 and later joined the Coast Guard during World War II, where he was stationed in Brooklyn and assigned to perform in military revues. Caesar's acting career spanned television and film; he appeared in the Grease franchise and films such as The Cheap Detective, The Great Mom Swap, and Vegas Vacation. He received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his work on Caesar's Hour.
