Alan Arkin was an American actor, director, and screenwriter (1934-2023). Arkin joined the original cast of The Second City and recorded albums with the folk group The Tarriers. He appeared in films such as Little Miss Sunshine, for which he received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, Dumbo, Edward Scissorhands, Marley & Me, and The Muppets. Arkin also received a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor - Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for The Russians Are Coming The Russians Are Coming. He produced the film The In-Laws.
