River Phoenix was an American actor and musician (1970-1993). His film credits include roles in Explorers, Stand by Me, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade , Running on Empty, My Own Private Idaho, and Sneakers. One of his final film appearances was starring in The Thing Called Love. Phoenix was also a musician and formed the band Aleka's Attic.
