Denzel Washington is an American actor, director, and producer. He appeared in Cry Freedom, Mo' Better Blues, Malcolm X, The Pelican Brief, Philadelphia, Crimson Tide, The Preacher's Wife, Man on Fire, Training Day, The Magnificent Seven, and The Equalizer franchise. Washington also starred in The Tragedy of Macbeth and Sidney, both Apple TV+ films, as well as Gladiator II.

Washington directed The Great Debaters and Fences and produced The Book of Eli and The Equalizer 3.

He received the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Glory. He won another Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for The Hurricane and a second Academy Award for Best Actor for Training Day. He also won the Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Play for Fences.
