Melissa McCarthy is an American actress and comedian. She appeared in the television series Gilmore Girls and Mike & Molly, for which she won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 2011. She also won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on Saturday Night Live. McCarthy has appeared in the series Nine Perfect Strangers and in films such as Bridesmaids and The Little Mermaid. She has also produced the films The Boss and Genie.
