Angela Bassett is an American actress. She played Tina Turner in What's Love Got to Do with It, for which she received the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy. Her film credits include Black Panther, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Soul, and This Means War. She has also starred in Malcolm X, Waiting to Exhale, and How Stella Got Her Groove Back. Bassett has also appeared in the television series 9-1-1, ER, and American Horror Story. She has directed the film Whitney.
