Alan Rickman was an English actor. Rickman is known for his starring role in the Harry Potter franchise, where he played Severus Snape. He also appeared in Die Hard, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Love Actually, Sense and Sensibility, and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. He also directed the film A Little Chaos. Rickman received a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie for his performance in Rasputin.
