In BAD APPLES, elementary school teacher Maria (Saoirse Ronan) is passionate and idealistic, but gradually worn down to the point of exhaustion and despair. With little support from authority figures and a student called Danny (Eddie Waller) who seems to go out of his way to cause trouble at every opportunity, she's stretched as far as her nerves will allow. When there's a situation outside of school that results in Maria stepping in to restrain Danny, she makes a spur-of-the moment decision that gradually spirals out of control.
