Paul Kantner was an American musician. He was a founding member of Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship. Kantner reorganised Jefferson Airplane under the name Jefferson Starship in and released the album Blows Against the Empire with the band. He also released Baron von Tollbooth & the Chrome Nun with Grace Slick and David Freiberg, and Sunfighter with Grace Slick. Among his most popular songs are Have You Seen the Stars Tonite, Starship, and Hijack. Kantner appeared in the documentary Gimme Shelter.
