

Shirley Horn
Shirley Horn was an American jazz singer and pianist. She collaborated with many jazz musicians including Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Toots Thielemans, Ron Carter, Carmen McRae, and Wynton Marsalis. She began her recording career in the 1960s and gained renewed recognition in the early 1980s after signing with both Verve Records and the Danish label SteepleChase. Horn released the album Here's To Life in 1992, arranged by Johnny Mandel, which included the popular song Here's To Life. Her music was featured in the documentary Miles Davis: The Miles Davis Story. Her other popular songs include I Want To Be With You, My Future Just Passed (from Safety in Numbers), Travelin‘ Light, and You Won't Forget Me, which features Miles Davis in one of his last recordings. Horn was inducted into the Lionel Hampton Hall of Fame in 1996.
