David Ackles was an American singer-songwriter. He was hired as a songwriter by Elektra Records and released his self-titled debut album in 1968, followed by American Gothic, Five & Dime, and Subway To the Country. He wrote the musical Sister Aimee, which was performed in Los Angeles in 1995.
