Sergio Mendes was a Brazilian musician and bandleader. Sergio Mendes & Brasil ’66 had successful albums such as Herb Alpert Presents: Sergio Mendes & Brazil ’66. Later Mendes released the album Brasileiro, for which he received a Grammy Award, and the collaborative album Timeless. Among his most popular songs are Magalenha, Never Gonna Let You Go, and Mas Que Nada. He appeared in the documentary Sergio Mendes in the Key of Joy and the film Be Cool. Mendes passed away in 2024.
