John Hiatt is an American rock guitarist, pianist, singer, and songwriter born in 1952. He released Hangin' Around the Observatory, marking the beginning of his solo career. Hiatt settled on a rootsy fusion of rock 'n' roll, country, blues, and folk. His songs were covered by Three Dog Night, Bonnie Raitt, Iggy Pop, and the Neville Brothers. Hiatt released Bring the Family, Slow Turning, and Stolen Moments. He collaborated with Gregg Allman and The Allman Brothers Band on the song Will the Circle Be Unbroken and appears in the documentary The King.
