American singer-songwriter

John Mellencamp is an American singer-songwriter. He released the album American Fool in 1982, which included the popular songs Jack & Diane and Hurts So Good. In 1983, he released the album Uh-Huh under the name John Cougar Mellencamp, which featured the hit Pink Houses. He released the albums Scarecrow in 1985 and The Lonesome Jubilee in 1987. John Mellencamp co-founded the Farm Aid charity concert series and has appeared in the documentary films A Vision Shared: A Tribute to Woody Guthrie and Leadbelly and John Mellencamp: It's About You. He has also appeared in the feature film Falling from Grace, which he directed and starred in.
