American DJ and rapper
Grandmaster Flash is an American DJ and rapper. He formed the Furious Five, one of the first MC crews, and pioneered the turntable techniques that eventually became standard in the rap genre. Grandmaster Flash is known for pioneering the socially conscious aspect of rap with the 1982 hit song The Message. He also released the popular songs Beat Street and Step Off Megamix. Grandmaster Flash released the albums The Bridge and The Adventures Of Grandmaster Flash, Melle Mel & The Furious Five: More Of The Best with Melle Mel. He has appeared in the documentaries Pharrell Williams: Happy Go Lucky and The Man from Mo’Wax and the film Wild Style.
