Michael McDonald
American singer and keyboardist
Michael McDonald is an American singer and keyboardist. He was a member of both Steely Dan and The Doobie Brothers, joining the latter as a vocalist in the mid-1970s. McDonald started a solo career in the early 1980s and released the albums If That's What It Takes, Motown, and The Ultimate Collection. He is known for his smooth voice on soft rock hits such as What a Fool Believes, I Keep Forgettin', and I Gotta Try. McDonald has also collaborated on several notable songs, including On My Own with Patti LaBelle. He has appeared in the documentary The Doobie Brothers: Let the Music Play.
