A confident and sexy blend of soft rock and indie pop from the British singer. Suki Waterhouse’s sexy and confident third album, Loveland, yields a lush and groovy blend of soft rock and indie pop, often sweet, often provocative. The album features several new-to-Waterhouse faces, including the ever-popular Aaron Dessner, who brings his folksy production and piano to “Seasons” and “Almost,” as well as Mick Fleetwood, the drummer on the ’70s-esque jam “Morals.” Noah Kahan collaborator Gabe Simon, songwriter favorite Amy Allen, and Lorde’s Pure Heroine producer Joe Little come together with the British singer for the magnetic “Any Man.” (Simon also joined for the energetic rocker “Tiny Raisin“ and Allen helped pen the aforementioned “Morals.”) While not quite a contributor, there’s also one big potential muse. Wistful romanticism closes the album with an apparent nod to Waterhouse’s superstar partner Robert Pattinson on “Weirdo.” “You’re on a set, is that ancient Rome?/Now I’m in a drive-through, out on the road/I’m calling you up, just letting you know/I’m missing my favorite weirdo,” she sings.
