Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers were an American rock band led by Tom Petty. They released the albums Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers, Damn the Torpedoes, Hard Promises, and Into the Great Wide Open. The band had popular songs including Mary Jane’s Last Dance, American Girl, and Learning to Fly. They appeared in the documentary Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers: Runnin’ Down a Dream and dissolved in 2017. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.
