VIRGINIA WOOLF'S NIGHT & DAY begins in London, 1910, where free-spirited Katharine (Haley Bennett) spends her time studying astronomy and avoiding her parents' matchmaking attempts. She's determined to gain admission to the University of Cambridge and make an impact in the world, but the majority of the academic institutions and clubs don't welcome women. When her best friend William (Jack Whitehall) proposes, it could be an opportunity to get her parents (Jennifer Saunders and Timothy Spall) off her back and create a life with someone who understands her. But cousin Cyril (Misia Butler) is adamant that she can follow her dreams and find true love.
