Duane Allman
American guitarist (1946–1971)
Duane Allman was an American guitarist (1946-1971). He was a founder of the American rock band The Allman Brothers Band with whom he released studio albums including 1969's The Allman Brothers Band and 1970's Idlewild South. He also played guitar on the 1972 album Duane & Gregg Allman with his brother Gregg Allman. Allman performed session work for many other artists, notably playing lead and slide guitar on Derek and the Dominos' only studio album, Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs. Allman died in a motorcycle crash at age 24.
