

Jim Steinman
American composer, lyricist and record producer (1947–2021)
Jim Steinman was an American composer, lyricist, and record producer (1947-2021). Steinman composed music for Amherst College's adaptation of Bertolt Brecht's A Man's a Man in 1968 and wrote the musical The Dream Engine during his final year at the school. He released the album Bad for Good which includes songs like Bad for Good, Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through, and Out of the Frying Pan (And Into the Fire). Steinman adapted his Bat songs into the jukebox musical Jim Steinman's Bat Out of Hell which premiered on Broadway in 2017. The musical's soundtrack album, Jim Steinman's Bat Out Of Hell: The Musical, was also released that year. He appeared in the documentary Meat Loaf: Bat Out of Hell.
