Carmen Miranda was a Brazilian singer, dancer, and actress. She signed to RCA in 1928 and became a massive star throughout Brazil, solidifying her fame there with Estudantes in 1935. Miranda is known for her iconic fruit-basket headdress in Hollywood musicals. She appeared on the albums That Is!, The Brazilian Tornado, and The Music of Brazil / Carmen Miranda, Volume 1 / Recordings 1935 - 1941. Her most popular songs include Mama Yo Quiero and Chica Chica Boom Chic. Miranda appeared in the films Down Argentine Way, The Gang’s All Here, and Doll Face.
