

Kathleen Battle
American opera singer
Kathleen Battle is an American opera singer. She has performed with the Berlin Philharmonic, Vienna Philharmonic, and New York Philharmonic. Battle made her professional debut at the Spoleto Festival and later released the album Fauré: Requiem with the Philharmonia Orchestra and Carlo Maria Giulini. She followed this with recordings of Mendelssohn: A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Poulenc: Gloria; Stabat Mater, both featuring Seiji Ozawa and the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
She has released popular songs such as Cantata No. 202 Weichet nur, betrübte Schatten (Wedding Cantata): Aria. Weichet nur, betrübte Schatten and Vesperae solennes de confessore, K. 339: Laudate Dominum. Battle also appears in the film Le Nozze di Figaro.
