Al Jolson was a Lithuanian-born American entertainer, actor, and singer (1886-1950). He starred in The Jazz Singer, the first feature-length film with synchronised sound, and later appeared in films such as Rhapsody In Blue. Jolson released albums including Stephen Foster Songs. His most popular songs include Toot, Toot, Tootsie! (Goo' Bye), April Showers, and Swanee. Through his work on stage, radio, silent films, and recordings, Jolson became the first real multi-media superstar.
