American bassist, film composer and founding member of Return to Forever

Stanley Clarke is an American bassist, film composer, and founding member of Return to Forever. He released albums Stanley Clarke, Journey to Love, and School Days, blending rock, jazz, and funk on his solo recordings. Clarke collaborated with George Duke on the song Sweet Baby and with Herbie Hancock on Hideaway. He also played with straight-up jazzmen Horace Silver and Joe Henderson. Clarke appears in the documentary Stanley Clarke: Forever.
