Cab Calloway was an American jazz singer (1907-1994). He made his Cotton Club debut in New York City in 1931 and released his signature tune Minnie the Moocher that year, which made him the first African-American musician to sell a million copies of a single. Calloway released albums such as Cab Calloway And His Orchestra? and Hi De Hi De Ho. He appeared in films including Stormy Weather, The Cincinnati Kid, and The Blues Brothers. Calloway's most popular songs include Minnie the Moocher and St. James Infirmary.
